Reflection: Empathy

Self Reflection: Imagine that you have been tasked with the responsibility of raising the ‘profile’ of empathy in your school. Your job is to consider a poster campaign for your school.

Think through a quote, lyric, saying, short story, image, cartoon or whatever you feel would work towards inspiring other young people to embrace the virtue of empathy.

In order to get into the headspace consider these three things: 

• Think of a time in your life when people have made presumptions about you based on what they have seen. They have made decisions based on face value. 

• Consider the virtue of empathy. Consider how powerful an empathetic response is from another person when you are going through a hard time. 

• Consider the gift you offer to others by responding with empathy when they are going through a hard time.
